Wallaceburg man charged in fraud investigation
A 36-year-old man accused of depositing a fraudulent cheque at a business in Wallaceburg has been charged.
Police said a fraud complaint was made in early August. Officers were able to identify a suspect through video surveillance.
A 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested Friday morning and charged with fraud-related offences and failing to comply with his release conditions.

CK Rollover
A 20-year-old woman has been charged with careless driving following a rollover just outside of Chatham.
The rollover happened on Queens Line near Dillon Road around noon on Friday. The vehicle landed in a water-filled ditch. Police report minor injuries.
Total damage is estimated at $15,000.

Drivers busted for speeding
Chatham-Kent police are reminding drivers that roads are not raceways.
The reminder comes after six drivers were stopped on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham on Thursday. The drivers were all charged with speeding.

Dresden man charged with failing to comply
A 42-year-old Dresden man is charged with failing to comply with his release conditions after he was allegedly caught somewhere he shouldn't have been.
Police said the 42-year-old was ordered to stay 50 metres away from his sister's home in Chatham. However, he was allegedly spotted near her residence on Thursday night.
He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Wanted men arrested
A couple of wanted men involved in separate incidents have been arrested in Chatham.
A 32-year-old man wanted for failing to comply with his probation order was arrested on Thursday after officers were called about a suspicious man on Tweedsmuir Avenue. He has a future court date scheduled for October 14.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old Wallaceburg man wanted for failing to comply with his release condition was arrested after he was found walking in the area of Countryview Line and Baldoon Road on Thursday. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Thefts in Chatham
Police are investigating after several tools and a leaf blower were reported stolen.
The items, worth approximately $5,000, were inside of a locked truck on Indian Creek Road. The items stolen include two Stihl 201T chainsaws, a Stihl 362 chainsaw, a Stihl 261 chainsaw, a Stihl Kombi tool with an interchangeable end for different attachments, and a Stihl leaf blower.
Officers are also looking for two green and yellow Raleigh mountain bicycles that were reported stolen from an unlocked garage on Devon Road. The theft happened sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.

Chatham-Kent police are also reminding bike owners to register their bicycles through the online registry. This will increase the chance of having a recovered lost or stolen bicycle returned to its owner.
