Some lucky person has won a lot of cash, thanks to the CKHA Foundation’s “Igniting 50/50 Healthcare FUNdraiser”.
This year's winner pocketed a jackpot of $172,870. The winning ticket drawn on Wednesday at 1 p.m. was #1107940.
"We are so incredibly grateful to this community," said Mary Lou Crowley, President & CEO of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF), "We never dreamed that we would be able to surpass last year’s record-setting total, and especially in the midst of a pandemic. Our lucky jackpot winner has not yet come forward, but with this much support for our hospital, everyone in Chatham-Kent is a winner today."
The money that the hospital foundation this year will go towards the purchase of a new C-Arm — an advanced medical imaging machine that uses X-ray technology.
Last year’s winner, Bert Vanderheide of Blenheim, took home $149,180. Last year’s raffle raised a total of $298,360, which set the record for the largest online charitable lottery in Southwestern Ontario. Last year’s proceeds helped buy a new $226,000 Holmium Laser.
