More daycare spaces in Chatham

A new children's daycare is opening in Chatham.

Kids Connection Daycare has opened its doors and is taking registration. The new business has several indoor and outdoor learning spaces and can accept children as young as 18 months, up to seven years of age.

Kids Connection was set to launch on March 15, 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 shutdown. They had a soft launch on June 23, 2020 and allowed a limited number of families to have their children attend the facility.

Kids Connection will be open to its full capacity of 84 children as of September 1, 2020.

“We are approaching the September opening with cautious excitement,” said Lisa Walker, executive director of Kids Connection Daycare. “It will be wonderful to be able to help more families, and we also know how important it is that we do our absolute best to keep everyone healthy and safe. This is why we are working closely with agencies such as Public Health and the Ministry of Education to ensure that all COVID regulations and policies are followed.”

The daycare said parents can rest easy knowing that it is frequently cleaning and disinfecting the entire building, practicing social distancing, and making sure that everyone is washing their hands. Walker added screening protocols are also in place at the entrance to ensure everyone entering is healthy.

“All of our staff are Registered Early Childhood Educators along with qualified support staff who are passionate about guiding children to understand how learning happens," said Operations Director Robin Jones. "It is our mission to provide a safe, responsive, cheerful, nurturing environment where children can develop to their highest potential.”

Parents can register at https://chathamkent.onehsn.com. For more information, contact Kids Connection Daycare at 226-996-9696 or visit them at 470 St. Clair St. in Chatham.
