Vision Nursing Home lifts temporary suspension of visitors

Visitors are again being allowed into Vision Nursing Home as of Tuesday.

Vision confirmed a week ago that indoor and outdoor visits were temporarily suspended after someone who visited a family member tested positive for COVID-19.

CEO Heather Martin told BlackburnNews.com that every precaution was taken to ensure the virus didn't spread through the home.

Every person who came into contact with the family member was swabbed, and the results came back negative.

There was a nearly two-month-long outbreak at Vision earlier this year.

It was declared on April 23 and ended on June 18.

During that time, 26 residents and 28 staff members tested positive at the Wellington Street facility, and a total of 10 residents died from the virus.
