The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported 24 additional cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, with nearly half of them coming from the community.
A total of 11 of the latest cases are community spread while six are agri-farm workers. Meanwhile, one case is a local health care worker and six cases remain under investigation.
The new batch of cases brings the total case count to 2,180, with 1,433 cases listed as resolved.
Of the total cases in the region, 1,331 have been from close contact, 435 have been community spread, 119 have been travel-related and the exposure type of 295 cases are listed as being unknown.
There remained 10 outbreaks at Windsor-Essex workplaces on Sunday, two outbreaks at area retirement homes and one at a long-term care facility.
Across Ontario, 137 new cases were reported on Sunday, representing a 0.4 per cent increase over Saturday. So far 34,359 of the 38,680 cases in Ontario have recovered.
