Windsor-Essex sees six additional COVID-19 cases

All of Sunday's COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex are related to the agri-food sector.

The Windsor-Essex Health Unit recorded six new cases of the virus on Sunday.

The local case count now stands at 1,800. To date, 1,185 individuals have recovered from the virus.

There was also an additional outbreak reported at an area long-term care or retirement home- Augustine Villas in Kingsville. There are two other long-term care or retirement home outbreaks in Windsor, one at Riverside Place and one at Devonshire Retirement Residence.

Meanwhile, the number of workplace outbreaks in the region remained at six, five of which are in the agriculture sector.

Health officials in Ontario reported 129 new cases on Sunday, bringing the provincial total to 36,723.
