Two additional COVID-19 outbreaks reported in Windsor-Essex

A manufacturing workplace in Leamington has been added to the list of COVID-19 workplace outbreaks in Windsor-Essex.

The outbreak was reported Sunday by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.  This is in addition to the two current agriculture workplace outbreaks in Leamington and two in Kingsville.

Another outbreak was also reported by the health unit on Sunday at an area long-term care home- Riverside Place in Windsor. There are also currently outbreaks at Devonshire Retirement Residence in Windsor and Extendicare Tecumseh.

This comes as the health unit reported nine new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Two of the latest cases are from the agri-farm sector, four are community-based and three are still under investigation.

The total case count for Windsor-Essex now sits at 1,665.

The number of COVID-19 related deaths in Windsor-Essex remains at 68 while the number of individuals who have recovered from the virus is now at 995.
