London Transit extends COVID-19 precautions as services resume

London transit officials are asking the public to continue to adhere to its social distancing policies, as the city continues to reopen its economy.

The London Transit Commission (LTC) announced on Wednesday that it has extended its rear door boarding policy on all buses for another month, until July 31. However, those with accessibility needs can continue to board and exit using the front doors.

However, the LTC will also reintroduce Routes 90 and 91, which will return to service on June 29. As well, additional buses are being deployed to assist with other routes that have seen higher ridership numbers following the provincial government's decision to allow the majority of businesses to open starting on June 12.

The LTC is strongly encouraging all passengers to wear a mask while utilizing public transit. Everyone is also asked to avoid using public transit altogether if they are experiencing any symptoms.

The transit commission's social distancing precautions were first introduced due to the pandemic in mid-March.
