One new COVID-19 related death in London-area

One additional death related to COVID-19 was reported in London-Middlesex on Saturday, with the number of fatalities now at 57.

The latest death was a woman in her 90s in a retirement home.

According to the latest figures released by the Middlesex London Health Unit, there were also four new cases of the novel coronavirus reported on Saturday in the region. This brings the total number of cases to 572 since the pandemic began.

Sixty-seven of those cases are in local retirement homes while 103 are in long-term care homes. To date, there’s been 24 deaths in long-term care homes and 13 in retirement homes.

To date, a total of 429 individuals have recovered from the virus in the London-area.

Meanwhile, Ontario health officials reported 266 new cases on Saturday, bringing the provincial total to 31,992.
