There's been another COVID-19 case confirmed in Chatham-Kent, bringing the total of active cases to four.
CK Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Colby said the man works in Essex County but lives in Chatham and has to be part of the CK Public Health count. Dr. Colby told Blackburn News the man is an office worker at an Essex County agri-business. How he was exposed to the virus is still under investigation.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported on Friday that 70 per cent of all positive cases in that area within the last 30 days originated in Leamington. It also said around 25 per cent of overall cases are among farmworkers in that region.
CK Public Health said all four active cases are self-isolating at home. The new case brings the overall total number of local cases to 149.
Colby is also reporting that the outbreak at Greenhill Produce greenhouse operation in Kent Bridge is almost cleaned up.
Greenhill Produce only has two active cases as of Friday afternoon. A total of 103 workers at that farm tested positive for the virus during the outbreak that started in late April.
