Owen Sound Transit fares reinstated

Owen Sound Transit fares will return on June 15, 2020.

The city waived transit fares on March 18 as a safety measure at the beginning of COVID-19.

Monthly bus passes and single fares are available for purchase by cash, debit and credit card at the Transit Terminal. June bus passes will be reduced by 50 percent in cost. Previously purchased passes for the months of March, April and May will be honoured.

Ridership remains limited to six people on a bus at one time.

City transit service operates Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the last bus leaving the terminal at 6 p.m. On Saturdays, transit operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last bus leaving the terminal at 4 p.m. There is no transit (conventional or mobility) service available on Sundays or Statutory Holidays.

The City of Owen Sound said it is committed to providing a transit service that meets the needs of residents while protecting the health and safety of our service provider, customers, and community.

City transit services are provided at an annual net operating cost of approximately $535,000.
