Sarnia Subaru donates $9,000 to three community organizations

A Sarnia car dealership is the latest organization to give back to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fenwick Subaru recently donated a total of $9,000 to St. Clair Child and Youth Services, Lambton Supportive Transitional Housing, and the Victorian Order of Nurses.

Owner Glen Fenwick said the dealership is in a fortunate position to be able to support those who are supporting Sarnia-Lambton during this crisis.

"We felt it was really important at this time to do anything we possibly can do, so we chose three charities, three support groups that are really near and dear to our hearts," said Fenwick. "And we did it in memory of family members that we've lost over the past year, my partner's brother, my father-in-law, who we lost just a couple of weeks ago, and my parents, who we lost in September."

Fenwick said it's something they felt compelled to do.

"St. Clair Child and Youth provides so much support for all of the young people in our area, and it was a pleasure to donate $3,000 to them. The proceeds of that were also from 1 Good Shift, an event that we had at Imperial Theatre just before COVID-19 struck the community down," he said. "The VON, who of course are out all over our community, going into houses, taking care of our elderly and people at risk, they're so important and vital to us."
