Aamjiwnaang restricting riverfront access to First Nation members

Aamjiwnaang First Nation is limiting its St. Clair River waterfront access due to COVID-19.

A Facebook notice from the band council said as pandemic restrictions are lifted, waterfront access will be limited to First Nation status cardholders only, until further notice.

Those planning to access the waterfront are asked to carry their status card with them.

The band council said security will be patrolling the shoreline to deter non-status cardholders from fishing.

First Nation residents are also reminded to use proper social distancing when visiting the riverfront.
