The not-for-profit Community Foundation Grey-Bruce has released the results of a survey on the local impacts of COVID-19.
The 10-question survey was given to organizations that have received funding from Community Foundation Grey Bruce in the past. 82 organizations completed the survey between April 28th and May 11th. The survey showed that while most local organizations feel optimistic about the future, many worry about financial stability and even possibly closing due to the impact of COVID-19 on the economic landscape.
87 percent of respondents said that cancelling events and fundraisers was a major challenge, and over 40 percent of organizations will need to change how they function to remain viable in the future due to economic difficulties. There is also concern over the closure of small businesses within the region.
