South Bruce Peninsula has announced residents are now free to have bonfires.
Today the Ministry of Natural Resources lifted the Bruce Peninsula Fire Ban effective first thing tomorrow.
People are asked to remember they are to be contained to a 2ftx2ft pit and to never leave a burning fire unattended.
Mayor Janice Jackson, says as the Province begins to relax the restrictions put in place due to the COVID19 pandemic, many of local businesses will open their doors for the first time in months but will need to continue to take measures to keep the community safe while making it possible for people to begin to start their lives, realizing a new “normal”.
She adds the municipality has decided not to enforce the Paid Parking program at Sauble Beach until June 27.
There is a Public Health Order in place which keeps beaches, and parks beside a shore closed including Sauble Beach and Bluewater Park. Boat launches are open except Bluewater Park which remains closed.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in South for your patience and support of one another as we navigate through this pandemic. Now more than ever we need to be vigilant and remember that as our community begins to open, we are all in this together. Practice physical distancing, wash your hands, wear face protection, and stay safe," said the mayor.
