Family dispute leads to charges

A man is facing multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, after a family dispute.

On Friday night, police were called to St. Clair Street in Chatham. A man was located under the influence of alcohol and cannabis.

Investigation revealed that he had allegedly assaulted two people and threatened them with a knife.

As a result, the man was charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

He was arrested, taken to the police station and eventually released with a future court date.

Woman arrested for mischief twice

A woman managed to get herself in trouble with the law twice in one day.

According to police, she had been released on mischief charges earlier in the day on Friday.

She was then found the same day allegedly damaging Union Gas boxes.

She was placed under arrest and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Man facing additional charges after getting arrested on warrant 

Police got more than they bargained for when they arrested a man Friday on Inshes Avenue.

He was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. While searching him, officers found him in possession of a large knife. The man was on conditions to not possess any weapons.

He was released on an outstanding warrant and new charges with a future court date.

Break and enter in Chatham

A man is in trouble with the law after allegedly breaking into a house in Chatham.

Police responded to the break and enter call Friday night.

Officers were able to locate a man in the basement of a vacant address on Raleigh Street.

He was arrested for break and enter with intent and for breach of undertaking for his curfew.

He was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing.

Alert citizen tips off police

A call about a suspicious person led to an arrest in Thamesville.

Officers were called to London Road Friday night and located a man.

Investigation found that he was in possession of a set of licence plates that had been reported stolen earlier in the day during a break and enter.

He was released for one count of possession under $5,000.

Houston Street disturbance

A man had to spend some time with police after having one too many.

It started when officers were called to a disturbance Friday night on Houston Street in Chatham.

An intoxicated man was located and arrested for unlawfully being in a dwelling and mischief under $5,000.

He was taken to the police station and held for bail.

Woman wreaks havoc on CK vehicle

Damage to a municipal vehicle landed one woman in hot water.

Police say she gained access to the vehicle Friday morning and allegedly damaged the dashboard, seats and radio.

She was released with a future court date.

Man turns himself into police

A man has a future court date after turning himself in.

He was wanted in an outstanding aggravated assault investigation.

Before being given the future court date, he was interviewed by the Criminal Investigation Division.

Welfare check leads to charges

A wellbeing check has turned into charges for one man.

Officers were conducting the check Friday evening on Queen Street.

When located, the man was found in possession of suspected meth.

He was arrested and released with a future court date.

Police bust trespassers

Officers had to escort some people out of a residence on St. Clair Street in Chatham for trespassing.

The parties had entered the vacant apartment to seek shelter. Nothing was taken and there was no damage.

Woman arrested on warrant 

Police arrested a female in Chatham on Friday evening who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a release.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and released with a future court date.
