A 22-year-old Windsor man will be experiencing some physical distancing from his vehicle for the next week after he was stopped for stunt driving on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
Police said they pulled a vehicle over just before 8 p.m. Tuesday night after registering it going in excess of 150 kilometres per hour in a posted 100 km/h zone near Duart Road.
The driver was charged with racing a motor vehicle and as a result, the vehicle was taken away for seven days and the driver's license was suspended.
In a separate investigation, a 45-year-old man from Ohsweken is in trouble with police after he was stopped for speeding twice on the same stretch of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
Both stops were within half an hour of each other.
Chatham-Kent OPP said two different officers pulled the same vehicle over on April 23 at 11:14 p.m. and 11:41 p.m. -- once near Kent Bridge Road and once at Queens Line.
Officers said in both cases, the vehicle was recording going faster than 140 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. The driver was charged with speeding after both of the stops.
