The Grey-Bruce Health Unit is asking for more people to get tested for COVID-19.
In a release on April 24th, they say anyone with heart, kidney or lung diseases, diabetes, transplant recipients or donors, those on dialysis or who have cancer and anyone else who is immunocompromised should be tested.
Also, anyone working in large residences like long-term care or shelters, first responders and front line healthcare workers and home caregivers, essential workers experiencing symptoms or those who cross the border for work like truck drivers should get tested.
Grey-Bruce Health Unit also note that travel history is no longer a criteria for testing. There are COVID-19 test sites set up at Grey Bruce Health Services – Owen Sound Regional Hospital and South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine Hospital 7 days a week from 12-4 pm. There is also a test site at Hanover and District Hospital 7 days a week from 12:30-4:30 pm.
Individuals who test positive will be contacted directly, anyone who tests negative will not be contacted directly. Also, if you're driving to the test site at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital, staff will ask for your cell number before you leave your vehicle, and they will message you when it is time for you to come in and receive the test.
