A Paisley company is helping in the effort to provide protective equipment for health care workers during the COVID 19 crisis.
Abraflex Limited is retooling part of its plant to make safety gowns. Normally Abraflex makes sophisticated protective garments for the nuclear industry, mainly for Bruce Power.
But CEO John Bradley said the company was perfectly positioned to make safety gowns to protect health care workers. He added they can't wait for government funding and are doing this at their own expense.
"This COVID crisis has made us all look at our moral compass and dig deep into our hearts and into our moral fabric to assist people in need. This means peoples' lives," said Bradley.
Abraflex is making and distributing the gowns in collaboration with Bruce County and Bruce Power. Bradley says when fully functioning they'll be able to make hundreds a day.
