Listowel Kinsmen Club helping local businesses with new gift card program

The Listowel Kinsmen Club has started a new program to benefit local businesses.

Sponsorship Chair Chris White said the club came up with an idea to try and encourage people to support their local businesses during the difficult time posed by COVID-19.

"So we came up with a gift card program that's designed to help everyone equally, everyone that's participating in it. People in the community can go to our website and make a purchase of an amount of gift cards in multiples of 50."

White said there are some added incentives when people purchase the gift cards.

"The participating businesses have offered a 10 percent bonus to all purchases, and the Kinsmen Club is going to run a prize draw for everyone who participates in this program."

The Listowel BIA has added the Kinsmen program to its newsletter, and the program has started off with a bang. White said any businesses that want to join can do so easily on the ListowelKinsmen.org website.

"Under COVID Program is Business Support, so I've listed all the details there, of how the businesses participate and left our contact information for any that may not have gotten the message the first time around."

Buyers are also able to add a donation to the local Salvation Army when they choose to purchase gift cards.
