Bruce and Huron counties, along with Bruce Power, have stepped up to purchase Clean Flow Health Care Minis.
The machine was developed by Clean Works in Beamsville, Ontario, and it can be used to sanitize personal protective equipment (PPE) used by healthcare workers and other front line staff fighting COVID-19. Abraflex, an Aboriginal business in Paisley, Ontario, has agreed to house the Bruce County machine, as well as provide expert staff who will clean used PPE in the event there is a shortage of new material.
Huron County will be announcing the location of their machine in the near future. It is expected the machines will be delivered in the next two to three weeks.
Bruce County Warden Mitch Twolan and Huron County Warden Jim Ginn offered a joint statement on the purchase of the Clean Flow Health Care Minis.
“The health and safety of our staff is always our number one priority. This investment has been made to protect our front-line health care workers by maintaining a steady supply of clean personal protective equipment, in the event that the supply chain breaks down. To those on the front-lines: thank you for your daily commitment to deliver service to our communities.”
