The Medical Officer of Health for Huron and Perth says although more people in Huron and Perth are being tested for the COVID-19 virus, the modelling suggests the average case count is not increasing.
However, Dr. Miriam Klassen said there are other factors that have to be considered before the province looks at lifting restrictions.
"More significant right now is the number of hospitalizations and the number of ICU admissions," said Klassen. "People needing ventilator treatment and the number of deaths. So what the Province is looking for is that the number of hospitalizations and people needing the ICU levels off and starts to come back down again."
Dr. Klassen said she believes what the province will want to see is the number of cases and the hospitalizations start to level off.
"Also before they would ease off on restrictions, that there enough measures put in place to prevent another wave," added Klassen.
