Disturbance call leads to arrest on outstanding warrants

Officers responded to a disturbance call in Wallaceburg on Friday. Police were told a male was acting erratically and hitting hydro poles with a golf club.

When officers arrived the suspect attempted to flee. Following a short on-foot pursuit, a 26-year-old man was arrested. Through investigation, police discovered the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and Mischief.

A search of the male also yielded what was believed to be a prohibited substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

The man was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for breaching bail conditions

Police were dispatched to an address in Wallaceburg late Friday evening. A man had reportedly attended the home of his ex-girlfriend and was not wanted there. The accused was on bail conditions and told not to attend the address or communicate with his ex-girlfriend.

While police were speaking with the victim, the male returned to the area. Further to the breach of bail conditions, the man  had four outstanding warrants.

The 32-year-old man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for a bail hearing.
