Another death, 28 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-area

Another COVID-19 related death is being reported in the Windsor-Essex area.

The death, along with 28 new cases of the virus, was reported on Friday afternoon by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.

The latest person to pass away was a woman in her eighties, who spent several days in the hospital.

The total number of people who have died due to the virus in the region now sits at eight. Meanwhile, the total number of cases is now at 290. Of those cases, 23 are listed as being 'resolved.'

A total of 2,088 tests have been administered in Windsor-Essex with 249 test results pending.

Elsewhere, the total number of confirmed cases across the province rose by eight per cent on Friday, bringing the total number to 6,237.
