St. Marys Homecoming+Heritage event postponed to 2021

The committee of the St. Marys Homecoming+Heritage event have decided to postpone the event until 2021.

In a release on April 9, Committee Chair Wayne Murray said the committee voted to postpone the event because of the widespread effects of COVID-19.

The committee has settled on a tentative date of July 2-4, 2021, but they will meet in December of this year to reassess the situation and decide whether or not they want to firmly commit to that new date.

"The decision to postpone Homecoming+Heritage was difficult but the correct way to proceed," said St. Marys Mayor Al Strathdee, who also a member of the committee. "I’d like to thank our volunteers for their hard work to date – hopefully next July we can really celebrate."

Any other community event groups looking for insight on how to proceed with their local events can contact St. Marys Event Coordinator Andrea Macko at amacko@town.stmarys.on.ca.
