Police offering help to vulnerable persons

Chatham-Kent police are making sure that anyone who feels like they are in danger during the COVID-19 pandemic knows that help is available.

A release from the local police force says officers realized that the "reality is that not every child is in a safe home during isolation," adding that some children have "relied on schools, daycares and community-run programs as a safe place."

For anyone who feels like they are in danger, Police Chief Gary Conn is assuring them that help is available in partnership with Chatham-Kent Children’s Services (CKCS).

In any emergency situation, please call 911 and if you see abuse, report it.

Director of Protection Services with CKCS Pam Glazier is echoing those statements, saying, "If you have concerns about a child, family or you yourself need help, please call us at 519-352-0440. We are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
