WRH to bar visitors from ICU effective Wednesday

A change in the current visiting policy at Windsor Regional Hospital is coming.

Effective midnight Tuesday night, the hospital will not allow any visitors into its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This applies to both the Metropolitan and Ouellette campuses.

The change is due to an increasing number of positive and probable COVID-19 patients on the hospital premises, and has been put in place to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

All other restrictions that were previously announced are still in effect, with one visitor allowed at a time. This includes paediatric patients in the emergency department, mothers giving birth, neonatal intensive care, palliative care, or a patient having urgent surgery. Any visitors must be over the age of 18.

No visitors will be permitted under any other circumstances.
