Local health officials asking for public PPE donations

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is asking the public to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

In a release, they say their supplies right now are adequate, but healthcare workers would like to be prepared for a future increase in COVID-19 patients.

They are looking for masks, gowns, gloves, goggles, and face shields.

Items can be dropped off at the Receiving Entrance at the Walkerton hospital between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The hospital will continue to utilize their current supply of PPE as long as possible, and handmade items will only be used if it becomes necessary.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
