Hospitals looking for more donated personal protective equipment

Essential workers in Windsor-Essex still need personal protective equipment, so the City of Windsor and Erie Shores Healthcare are renewing their call for donations.

Boxes of supplies have come in from closed dental offices, hair salons, and the manufacturing sector, but the need is ongoing.

Emergency and hospital officials need:

  • Respirators, Honeywell 5500 Series and NIOSG filter cartridges
  • N95 masks (model numbers: 3M18710, 3M9210 or 3MVFlex)
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Battery-operated infrared medical thermometers
  • Disposable impermeable gowns
  • General surgical masks
  • Hand sanitizer and disinfectant
  • Sanitizer wipes
  • Safety goggles
The equipment will be used by hospital staff, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and those working correctional services and long-term care homes.

Donations can be dropped off Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the WFCU Centre. Pull up to the Community Rink doors and staff will direct you where to go after a screening process.

Anyone who needs their donations picked up can call 311 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday to schedule a time.
