Chatham robbery suspect on the loose (VIDEO)

Chatham-Kent police are putting out an appeal for tips as they try to track down a robbery suspect.

Police said an unknown suspect wearing a scarf over his face walked into the Piggy Mart on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham at around 4 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money from the cashier. The man was also carrying what appears to be a firearm.

Officers said the suspect took off empty-handed after the cashier activated an alarm, though, and was last seen heading south on Taylor Avenue.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police said the suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s, approximately 6'0" tall with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black and white running shoes, black gloves, and a camouflage scarf over his face.

In an effort to identify the suspect for public safety reasons, police have released a video and an audio recording of the suspect making his demands. A warning to listeners, there may be graphic language.
