Lambton College cancels exam week

Students at Lambton College won't be writing their final exams this semester due to the spread of COVID-19.

The Sarnia school has cancelled next month's exam week, and instead, will conduct final student assessments online.

Senior Director of Communications Cindy Buchanan said they're moving away from their regular format, which sees students write their exams in the school's gymnasium, to create social distancing.

"So we'll have things like online tests, we'll have things like assignments and projects, so that's how students will be assessed, rather than in a formal week in the gym with all of their classmates," said Buchanan. "We anticipate that all students will be able to complete their semester, but everything is just moving to an online or remote alternative format, rather than in class just because of COVID-19."

Buchanan said the semester will end April 24 for most programs, and that the school's withdrawal date has been extended to April 3.
