YMCA shuts down operations across SW Ontario

The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario has closed all service locations until April 6 due to the impacts of COVID-19.

The organization issued a release Sunday, saying the temporary closure, effective immediately, includes all health, fitness and aquatics branches, child cares centres and March Break camps.

The YMCA said credits and refunds will be provided for the duration of closure, the details of which will vary by program and will be communicated by individual business areas.

Earlier this week, the organization initiated a pandemic preparedness protocol as a way to help ensure the health, safety and well-being of staff, and the members, participants, families and children in the YMCA community.

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario serves the region from Windsor in the west, north to Goderich, south to Point Pelee National Park, and east to Woodstock.
