Callers with coronavirus concerns swamp Huron Perth Phone Line

Huron Perth Public Health is being swamped with calls as Canadians start seeing some of the initial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Health Line intake phone line is currently experiencing high call volumes.

Public Health has published the latest information on their website so people can find answers to their questions as quickly as possible.

Public Health adds the risk to Ontarians remains low at this time.

Huron Perth Public Health recommends that people consider how to prepare for a time when there might be an increase in respiratory virus circulating in the community.

People could look at options for childcare or personal care in case someone in the family gets sick with a viral illness.

You could also Refill prescription medications and stocking up on non-perishable food in case you need to spend an increased amount of time at home due to illness or taking care of someone with an illness.
