Vehicle fire in Blenheim destroys shed, skidoo

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers officials are reaching out to the public for tips as police continue to investigate a fire in Blenheim that took place over the weekend.

According to police, unknown suspects drove a vehicle onto a farm on Welch Line sometime over the weekend of Saturday, March 7, parked it inside a steel shed at the back of the property and then set the vehicle on fire.

Investigators said the fire destroyed the vehicle, the shed, and a skidoo that was also being stored inside the structure.

Police said the vehicle appears to be a 2015 or older Lincoln MKX, but officers were not able to recover a VIN number to identify it. There have not been any reports of a missing SUV matching the vehicle's description, either.

Anyone with information that could identify the vehicle's owner or the suspects who started the fire is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 -- you could be eligible for a cash reward. You can also submit a tip online at www.crime-stoppers.on.ca.
