A part-time factory worker from Chatham has won $100,000 after matching six of seven Encore numbers in exact order.
Geraldine Graham matched the numbers with a ticket for the Lotto 6/49 draw on February 1. The 58-year-old married mother of one realized she won after recently using a ticket checker at a store.
“My eyes almost popped right out of my head. I ran to the car and told my son to pinch me,” she said in a statement. “I thought my husband was going to drop on the floor when I told him!”
Graham said she plans to use her winnings to buy a new chest-freezer and take some spending cash with her on an upcoming trip.
“We’ve got a trip planned to New York City for the fall, so I’d like to book some theatre tickets and enjoy the best of what New York has to offer,” she said.
The winning ticket was bought at Charlie’s Variety Store on Park Avenue in Chatham.
