Some residents in Chatham-Kent are missing their property tax bills because of a problem with the mailing address.
Municipal officials said they received approximately 200 "undeliverable" bills from Canada Post. The reason the bills were returned is that Canada Post no longer delivers bills that reference general delivery of Rural Route numbers.
Property owners who have not received a tax bill in the mail yet cannot use that as an excuse to not pay taxes.
The municipality is asking property owners who have yet to receive a tax bill to contact them by calling (519) 360-1998. The address listed will then be updated or residents will be allowed to pick up their tax bill at the Civic Centre on King Street West in Chatham.
The due date to pay property tax bills is on March 1.
