Assault in Chatham
A man is facing an assault charge after an incident in Chatham.
According to police, officers were called to the King Street area around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of a disturbance.
When police arrived, they saw a fight taking place between several people.
As a result, a 20-year-old from Chatham was arrested for assault and taken to the police station.
Man charged with failing to comply
A traffic stop has led to a Ridgetown man being charged.
Around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, cops on general patrol in Bothwell initiated the stop.
As they talked to the driver, they realized he was known to police. He was also on conditions to not be outside his house without his surety.
The 32-year-old was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
Man arrested for public intoxication
Around 2 a.m. Saturday, police received a complaint about a drunk man on King Street in Chatham.
They went to the scene and located a 20-year-old man who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. As a result, he was arrested for being intoxicated in public.He was taken to police headquarters and held until sober.
