Two charged after syringe exchange
A trip to the doctor and a court date is what one man wound up with after trying to hide drugs in a body cavity.
According to police, around 7 p.m. Friday two men were seen exchanging a syringe, resulting in both of them being arrested.
As a result, the 37-year-old who was allegedly purchasing the drug was searched. He had hidden the syringe in a body cavity and needed medical assistance to have it removed. He was eventually charged with possession of a controlled substance and released with a future court date.
The 43-year-old who was allegedly selling the syringe was also searched and found in possession of another one which was believed to be full of illegal drugs.
He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and released with a future court date.
Afternoon collision leads to two charges
A 50-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly drinking and driving and then leaving the scene of a collision.
Police say it all started around 2 p.m. on Friday after the man struck a hydro pole on Middle Line. Instead of staying at the scene, he kept driving.
A responding officer located the man and initiated a traffic stop. He was found to have consumed alcohol and also had a suspended license.
A breathalyzer determined that the Blenheim man had enough booze in his system to warrant a three-day suspension. He was charged with driving under suspension and failing to remain.
