Chatham-Kent police are looking to track down four youths in connection with a violent confrontation in Chatham.
Police said the incident started at around 7 p.m. Wednesday when two 17-year-old boys were waiting to cross Lacroix Street.
Officers said those boys exchanged some "hand gestures" with occupants of a red Honda vehicle that was passing by and that allegedly sparked a violent response.
Police said the driver of the red Honda turned the vehicle around after the exchange and followed the boys to an apartment building on Mary Street.
At that point, four people who were inside the vehicle reportedly got out and chased the two 17-year-olds on foot, forcing their way into the apartment building by smashing a glass door. That caused about $500 in damage.
The suspects then allegedly followed the boys to an apartment they had entered and tried to kick the door in. Police were called in, but the suspects had already taken off by the time officers arrived.
All of the suspects are described as white male youths, approximately 17-19 years old.
Police said one of the suspects was approximately 6'0" tall with an average build, dirty-blonde wavy hair, and thin black-framed glasses. He was last seen wearing a white zippered sweater with light-coloured jeans.
Two of the other suspects were last seen wearing light-coloured athletic clothes with dark-coloured paisley designs on the pants and hoodie.
The fourth suspect was last seen wearing dark-coloured athletic clothes.
