Grinch-like vandals target lights at Blenheim Park

A couple of months after a recurring prank forced officials to shut down the water fountain at Talbot Trail Place in Blenheim, vandals have hit the park again.

This time, they targeted a light display.

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is reporting that sometime overnight on December 1, someone pulled down and attempted to steal strands of Christmas lights from the fencing and the water park area.

Officials said several garbage bins were damaged and the suspects knocked blocks off of the memorial fountain. They also tried to steal some totes that contained more lights from a storage area.

The damage to the park was considered "minor" but Crime Stoppers is still looking for any information that can help identify the persons responsible for the mischief.

Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
