Woman charged with theft 

A woman from Dresden is facing a charge after allegedly stealing some electronics.

Police say they responded to a theft call around 12:30 p.m. at 791 St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Investigation revealed that the 33-year-old stole a smartwatch, tablet and other electronics.

She was arrested and charged with theft and possession under $5,000 and later released on a promise to appear in court.

Drunk in public leads to arrest 

Police had to arrest a man because he was disturbing the peace.

They were called to attend the area of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance around 9 p.m. Friday. A highly intoxicated man from Blenheim was found causing a disturbance.

The 34-year-old was unable to care for himself, arrested for being intoxicated in public and held until sober.

Police respond to several accidents

On Friday, officers responded to a total of eight motor vehicle collisions in Chatham-Kent.

Police are reminding people that being a safe and responsible driver takes a combination of knowledge, skills and attitude.
