An alleged Chatham bank robber will have his case go to court this week.

A Scotiabank branch in downtown Chatham closed its doors earlier than normal on Friday after a 53-year-old man allegedly handed a threatening note to a teller, demanding cash.
Police said the robbery took place around 11:30 a.m. and investigators were able to identify and locate a suspect by 1 p.m. that day.
Investigators said the 53-year-old had an undisclosed amount of stolen money in his possession at the time of the arrest.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Police said on Monday, the 53-year-old was charged with robbery and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing. His next court date is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
