Shoplifting complaint leads police to suspect

A 37-year-old man is facing charges after police allegedly found him carrying some brass knuckles.

Police said they found the weapon while they were searching him after responding to a shoplifting complaint in Chatham on Thursday.

Officers said the discovery of the brass knuckles was an even bigger problem because the man was previously issued a lifetime weapons ban.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, and breaching his probation. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Wanted man arrested in Ridgetown

Chatham-Kent police have managed to track down a 30-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a break and enter investigation.

Police said the man was arrested on Thursday, at which point, officers also allegedly found some stolen property in his possession that was linked to several other break-ins.

Officers charged the man with one count of break and enter, three counts of possession of stolen property, and four counts of breaching his probation. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
