Maroons defeat Legionnaires 6-5

The Chatham Maroons defeated the Sarnia Legionnaires 6-5 in Chatham on Sunday.

The Maroons kicked off the game with a goal from Evan Wells 2:25 into the first period. Sarnia's Brenden Bouvier and Nolan DeGurse both answered back with powerplay goals. Kaleb Tuessen put the game into a tie with a goal at 19:13.

Chatham's Blake Boudreau broke the tie 3:25 into the second period. Joesph Ferrera put the game at another tie 17:52 into the period.

Wells' scored his second goal of the game 1:21 into the third period. Cameron Ware scored for Sarnia. Chatham reviewed two goals scored from Maddux Rychel and a powerplay goal from Adrian Stubberfield. Ben Schooch scored the last goal of the game for Sarnia, ending the game at 6-5.

Chatham goalie Tiago Rocha saved 37 out of 42 shots on net.

The Maroons will be facing off the Komoka Kings in Komoka on Saturday. Puck drops at 7:15 p.m.
