BMO Farm Family award goes to Chatham family

A Chatham family has been selected as one of the recipients of this year's BMO Farm Family awards.

The Campbell Family -- Paul, Janet, Stephanie, and Sarah -- was presented with the award this past weekend during the 2019 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Verner, Ontario.

Stephanie Campbell, secretary of the Chatham-Kent Plowmen's Association, said the Campbell family is involved with the local plowmen's association, Chatham-Kent 4-H Association and had previously helped during the 2018 IPM, which was held in Chatham-Kent.

Paul Campbell grew up in Chatham-Kent on his family's farm. According to the Chatham-Kent Plowmen's Association, the Campbell farm primarily grows cash crops of corn, soybeans, and wheat on 500 acres of land.

BMO along with the Ontario Plowmen’s Association recognizes 11 agriculturally-involved families from across the province. Each family chosen for the award receives a farm gate plaque. Last year, the Bradley family and Fox family were named as local recipients.
