A popular brand of chicken strips has been recalled over fears of possible salmonella contamination.
Sofina Foods has recalled its Compliments brand uncooked chicken strips from store shelves across the country.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the recalled was issued after the strips were linked to a foodborne illness outbreak.
"The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating an outbreak of human illness and has identified this product as a source of illness," the CFIA said in a release. "The outbreak investigation is ongoing and may identify other sources."
The impacted product is the 907-gram packages with a best-before date of November 24th, 2019. Anyone with this product in their freezer should return it to the store they bought it at or throw it out.
