CK Police Briefs – May 20, 2019

Jewellery stolen after Sunday break-in. 

Wallaceburg residents arrived home Sunday, in time to see two suspects leaving their property with stolen jewellery.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at a house on Langstaff Line.

Police say a white man and woman were caught leaving the property in a green Ford Focus, and are the alleged thieves in the break-and-enter.

The ages and names of the suspects were not released. There was no description given.

There is no word on the total value of the jewellery that was taken.

Coatsworth teen charged with drunk driving  

A 19-year-old Coastworth teen was charged with impaired driving, and released with a future court date.

The arrest occurred Sunday night at 11:30 p.m near Wheatley Road and Campbell Road.

Police said an officer on general duty believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol before he was arrested.

He was transported to a police station for breath tests.

The name of the teen was not released.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
