Police investigate serious collision in Chatham

The Chatham-Kent Police Service's Traffic Management Unit has taken over the investigation into a serious collision that happened on Park Avenue.

According to police, the crash happened Saturday afternoon. A vehicle hit a display sign on the corner of Park Avenue and Queen Street.

No other vehicles were involved. As a result, a 65-year-old woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and then taken to a hospital in Windsor.

The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
