Two Hip records stolen from fundraising auction display

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to find two framed The Tragically Hip records that were both up for auction as part of a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Police said the first record was on display at Food Basics on St. Clair Street in Chatham on February 17, 2019 when a man walked into the store and took off with the item.

The same man allegedly walked into the store Monday and took off with a second framed record that was put on display to replace the first one that was stolen.

The records have a combined estimated value of $450.

Anyone with information on where the stolen items might be is asked to contact Constable Andrew Craven at andrewc@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 ext. 87306. You can also submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
