A 28-year-old Chatham woman is facing a handful of charges after allegedly spitting on a pair of Chatham-Kent police officers.
Police said the woman -- who was believed to be intoxicated at the time -- allegedly spat in the first officer's face as she was being escorted out to a cruiser after being arrested in connection with a family dispute Sunday night.
She is also accused of punching a family member before police arrived and threatening to punch an officer in the face after he came to investigate.
Police said the woman continued to be argumentative as she was transported to police headquarters and allegedly spat on another officer as she was placed in a holding cell.
The accused is charged with assault, uttering threats, and two counts of assaulting a peace officer and she has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
